There are few people I have met in all my years of Kiwanis like George Delisle.  George is man with great integrity and whose committment to Kiwanis is second to none.  I can't think of a more qualified and gifted person to be an International Trustee

George R. Delisle of Westfield, MA, is a Walter Zeller Fellow and a member of the New England and Bermuda District’s John Morton Society. He served New England and Bermuda as District Treasurer in 2011-2012, as district governor in 2013-2014, and as district secretary from the 2015 through 2017.

George was editor of the New England and Bermuda District newsletter, the Yankiwanian, from 2006 until 2011, and was the district’s Builders Club administrator from 2009 to 2012, also serving two terms on the Kiwanis International Builders Club Committee.

George joined the Kiwanis Club of Springfield, MA, in 1979 after visiting the club as a guest speaker. He served as president of the Springfield club in 1990-91. He became a member of the Kiwanis Club of Westfield, Massachusetts, in 2004. He was elected lieutenant governor from Division 21 (now Division 17) for 2006-2007 and again in 2009-2010. He is currently in his second three-year term as a member of the Kiwanis Foundation of New England board of directors.

George has been honored as “Outstanding District Committee Chair” and “Outstanding Lieutenant Governor” by the New England and Bermuda District, and was the Westfield Kiwanis Club’s “Kiwanian of the Year” in 2006. George is also a member of the Pennsylvania District’s Centennial e-Kiwanis Club.

Professionally, George recently retired after a 46-year career with the Springfield Republican, a 190-year-old daily newspaper serving Western Massachusetts. During his long career he served as a reporter, an editor, a columnist, and as a computer systems administrator.

George’s wife Geana is a past president of the Westfield Kiwanis Club and is secretary of the Kiwanis Foundation of New England. They have three daughters – Jennifer Delisle Ruddock, Corinne Delisle Nowell, and Denise Delisle, who is a member of the  Westfield Kiwanis Club board of directors and serves as Eliminate Project coordinator for Division 17 of the New England District.
